  • Name: Sushi
  • E-mail: second-child@bresnan.net
  • Name: Nocturne [KNOCK-turn] Also known as an instrumental composition of a pensive, dreamy mood, especially one for the piano. Make any assumptions about her personality now and thou art doomed.
  • Affiliation: Rebel
  • Rank: Enforcer Squad
  • Age: 16 years
  • Theme Song: "Ride on Shooting Star" by the Pillows; it makes just about as much sense as she does.
  • Birthday: February 18th, Aquarius-Pisces cusp.
  • Describe In One Word: Enigmatic
  • Personality:
    • Most of the time, Turn just doesn’t make any sense. There is no organization in her brain, things just pop up randomly. Sure, she can remember names and things like where she lives, but she doesn’t remember she can skate on ceilings unless someone asks, “Surely there’s something you can do?!” People have to ask directly for her to produce anything useful. If they don’t, she’s not paying attention/wondering what would happen if a dragon ate a gelatinous cube. Other than that, she’s just plain happy. She’s hard to upset, and even harder to piss off.
    • Turn is quite optimistic and even oblivious. Think about it, she’s lived in the base since she joined and still has no idea about Mambo’s secret identity. Most conversations with her have to be initiated by her to be remotely a conversation. If not, don’t expect her to pay attention. She’s far too poor. This quite possibly makes her a great secret keeper, since she will undoubtedly forget. Or maybe she just says she does. (Ooh, conspiracy.)
    • Now, as we all know, most people start puberty around the age of twelve. Turn isn’t most people. In fact she just started to develop breasts a few months ago. (Just to remind you all, most periods don’t start until a year after top growth.) Why is this relative? Turn has no sex drive whatsoever. Sex drives effect teenage behavior like you wouldn’t believe. This results in making Turn quite the innocent compared to the rest of her team. She doesn’t lust for anyone, lust would certainly have a hard time blinding her, and she certainly can’t seduce anyone. Along with lacking normal teenage urges comes some naivety. Turn has yet to grasp why Mambo likes looking up her skirt, and thus doesn’t mind. She’s also childlike in that she’s curious and not violent. And she likes to share her things.
    • Turn also does have a redeeming quality on the street: she’s the fastest thing on four wheels. No one comes even close to her in a City Rush. That is, when she’s skating backwards, taking time to say hello to a doggy and teasing her opponents by quite literally skating circles around them.
    • As mentioned somewhere up there, Nocturne is part of the rather small Enforcer Squad. Her partner is Mambo's brother, Samba. Don't we feel sorry for him already? But other than that, Turn sings "Ride of the Valkyries" on missions and/or in battles. (This is pertinent because she makes Samba sing with her.)
    • Right now we have the lean, mean, green Turn machine. But she’s far from invincible. Turn has yet to experience a death in her family, hasn’t quite learned the facts of life, and she’s never been hurt emotionally. She’s basically set up to take a fall. What is she going to do when that happens?
  • Appearance:
    • Turn and Tag.Either because of her choice of colors, or her actual features, her overall visage comes off as very sharp and almost acidic. Under severe and critical inspection, it might be discovered that Turn has a fairly nice figure. If you could get her to stand still. But since that is impossible without the heavy use of tranquilizers and/or vodka, it goes unnoticed by her and just about everyone else. (Mambo does not count, he has supernatural pimpzorz skillz.) Her skin has a healthy golden glow from being outside and moving about almost constantly. She has spiky lime-green hair that has a Pokémon/Dragonball Z quality. It’s cut unevenly by Turn herself (Turn with scissors, the stuffs of nightmares) and never reaches any farther than her shoulders. Her bangs are almost as long as her chin, but are parted over her left eye and brushed across her heart-shaped face. Her facial features are sharp, with a slightly upturned nose, slanted eyes and the angular kanji for luck on her left cheek. Her left eyebrow is also pierced with a silver hoop, although it is much neglected. Turn has a voice that is light and she speaks in a singsong way.
    • Her choice of clothing is simple. She wears am oversized, lemon yellow, off-the-shoulder shirt with sleeves that are a half-dozen inches too long and the hem ending about her waist. Over that, she wears a violently purple tank top that’s sole purpose is too keep her yellow shirt on her body. Her skirt is lime-green to match her hair and has a front flap that’s been split in the middle along with two pockets. Her only head decoration is a pair of gray headphones. Now they should be tuned to CHAOS, sadly, this is Turn and thus she is usually listening to classic symphonies. Lastly is a pair of vivid orange wellingtons that she wears only when she has been evicted of her blades. Surprisingly enough, Turn does take the time to wear lipstick (purple) and eyeshadow (yellow) as well as paint her nails (also purple).
    • Turn’s tag is actually from her old skate gang, the San-Xing. She was known as Lucky Star then, and thus her tag matches. Usually in purple or lime, the tag is the kanji for “luck” (hachi). Her blades are violet with the kanji for “lucky star” (hoshi no hachi) in yellow with lime outline. The wheels are lime with a yellow stripe down the center and have aluminum plates for grinding. Also, a silver pipe is fitted over the arch of the boot with a tailpipe. What for? The three San-Xing girls were able to keep their ranks in the streets by the magic of technology, and Turn’s boots had special boosters for the superpower to skate on walls and ceilings. Of course, she forgets she can do this on a regular basis. Naturally, she’s armed with a light lime-green spraycan.
  • Brief History:
    • Compared to many people, Turn (her original name was Asa Watanabe) had a perfectly happy childhood. Happier than normal, actually. Her parents are loving and adoring, no one in her family has died, including the family dog. Asa did well in school, despite the teacher’s consistent pleas to have her diagnosed for ADHD. Her friends never hurt her. She got her first pair of blades for her tenth birthday and immediately found her calling. Her parents, realizing their child was heavily sheltered, sent her to Tokyo to go to high school. Naturally, Asa doesn’t resent this because she trusts her parents and knows they’re trying to do what is best for her.
    • While Asa was skating around Tokyo one day, she ran into the San-Xing gang. They convinced her to join (this wasn’t hard, “You’ll have lots of fun!” “SCORE, I WANNA JOIN!!!”) and Asa became Lucky Star. The San-Xing gang is composed of only three girls, but they have the power of technology on their side. Lucky Star has blades that allow her to skate on walls and ceilings, Honor Star has hover blades and Wish Star has boosters on her blades. One day the San-Xing gang came up against the Rhythm Revolution and basically had their asses handed to them. So the Wish Star and Honor Star decided to give Lucky Star as a peace offering to the Rhythm Revolution. (In other words, they gave Lucky Star to them so the Rhythm Revolution would leave them alone.) As you might expect, this wasn’t a problem with Lucky Star (“They have even more fun than we do!” “YAAAY!!!”). The Rhythm Revolution took her in, renamed her Nocturne and now she lives at the base, terrorizing random members.
